Have you heard that the Wixom Community Foundation awarded their first grant to the local community in January which marks the beginning of the foundation's work benefiting the Wixom community! The non-profit foundation was conceived by Wixom community leaders as a means to address the needs of the individual, family and community. Snowman Challenge, the winner is ... posted: Feb. 5th, 2011

Trash collection is delayed a day. posted: Feb. 1st, 2011
Due to the forecasted severe weather conditions, Waste Management has notified the City of Wixom that the residential trash collection will be delayed one day. As high winds and blizzard conditions are expected, residents are advised to place their trash receptacles to the curb Thursday morning (prior to 7 a.m.) to help prevent trash from being blown throughout the neighborhoods.

A message from the City of Wixom...
1. Homeowners are requested to park off the streets when the City needs to plow. Our subdivision streets are cleaned by Wixom City. To find out when snow emergencies are possible please check in on the Wixom Website. www.cityofwixom.com.
2. Homeowners are urged to register on the Wixom City Website in order to be notified of snow emergencies, delays in garbage pick-up due to Holidays and current job postings.
3. The Wixom Farmers Market located at Sibley Square will continue this 2011 year.
4. The pond between the City Hall and Community Center is opened for ice skating at no fee. City residents are able to skate any day at any time!!! The city is also looking into playing music for the outdoor skaters!
5. On the last Monday of every month is "Coffee with the Mayor" at the Coffee Beanery located at the corner of Wixom Road and Pontiac Trial from 7pm - 9pm. City Residents can come and discuss issues with Mayor Kevin Hinkley while enjoying great coffee.
6. Homeowners are reminded to shovel their sidewalks.
